‘Orunodoi’, also known as ‘Arunodoi’, is a government scheme of Assam, launched on October 2, 2020. More than 24 lakh poor households have been envisaged monetary benefits of Rs. 1000 per month under the ‘Orunodoi’ scheme in the state. They received the amount on the first day of every month, starting in October 2020. Women, being the primary caretakers of the family, are kept as beneficiaries of the scheme. The “Orunodoi” scheme provides financial assistance of Rs. 1000 per month through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme to 19.10 lakh families in the state.

Benefits of the Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme
The government runs this scheme for those women who belong to the low-income groups of society to support them financially. The beneficiary will get financial assistance of Rs. 1000 per month through direct benefit transfer.

Who is Eligible for Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme?
If you are a permanent citizen of Assam or want to get the benefits of Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme, then you should meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below:
- Ex PRI Member having annual income less than 2 lakhs.
- To be a beneficiary of “Orunodoi Asoni” you need to be and Women.
- Family living in Kutcha House in villages.
- The priority has been given for the Widow Women, Separate Female, Physically Handicap Person, Unmarried Girls(age more than 35 years) etc. at the time of selection of beneficiary for Assam “Orunodoi Asoni”.
- The family having maximum 15 Bigha of land in village is also eligible for the Scheme.
- Having maximum 3 Katha Land in small towns and 1.5 katha Land in Kamrup Metro are also eligible for the scheme.
How to apply for “Orunodoi 2.0” Scheme?
Currently, the application process to apply for “Orunodoi 2.0 Asoni” is in offline mode only. The only way to apply for this scheme is through the “Application Form.” To take advantage of the “Orunodoi Asoni” scheme, the family has to nominate a woman from their home. Then all the information about the nominated women will have to be filled out in the application form as follows:

The duly filled-out application form by the applicant shall be submitted to his or her nearest Urban Local Body Office or to a Gram Panchayat Office. After submission of the application form, an acknowledgement slip will be given to the applicant by the Urban Local Body or Gram Panchayat Office. This acknowledgement slip will be proof that the applicant’s application form has been submitted.
Then, at various level committees will scrutinize the applications received and verify them thoroughly. After thorough verification, the list of selected and eligible beneficiaries will be uploaded to the portal, and they will get the amount transferred to their bank accounts on the first day of every month.
