How to Register for a Voter ID Card Online?

STEP-1: Visit the Official Election Commission Website

Visit the official website of the Election Commission of India https://voters.eci.gov.in/ and click on the “Sign Up” Button from the right top corner as shown in the image below.

STEP-2: Create an Account

Register for an account on the website using your valid email address and mobile number. Verify your account through the OTP sent to your mobile.

STEP-3: Fill in the Online Application Form

After creating account successfully please login by your mobile no or email id and password which you provided at the time of creating account as show in the image below:

Click on the ‘Fill Form 6’ button on the ‘New registration for general electors’ tab from the dashboard

Fill all the required details on Form 6, such as personal details, relatives details, contact details, Aadhaar details, date of birth details, address details, and declaration and upload mandate documents and click the ‘Preview and Submit’ button.

Congratulations! You have completed your online voters registration process.

STEP-4: Verification Process

The Election Commision will appoint the Booth Level Officer (BLO) to perform the verification. The BLO will verify your documents either offline or online. You may be required to visit a designated center for in-person verification if necessary.

Your application may be canceled, if the BLO officer found inconsistencies during the verification process. In such cases, the individual can re-submit a fresh application.

STEP-5: Receive Your Voter ID

Once the verification process is complete, you will receive your Voter ID at the address mentioned during the registration process or by Email.

The Voter ID Card is normally delivered by post or email within 15 to 21 days after the verification process completes.
